TAPTE LIV (Lost Lives)

This film was born out of a deeply personal experience. When I was in second grade, I lost a close friend and classmate to drowning. The trauma of that event has stayed with me throughout my life, shaping my relationship with water and swimming. It wasn’t until I was nearly 40 years old that I finally overcame my fear of swimming.

Creating this film has been a therapeutic process for me—a way to confront and process this childhood trauma. Through storytelling, I hope to not only heal myself but also raise awareness about the dangers of drowning and the importance of swimming education, especially in Norway, a country with such a strong connection to water.
